Why do game developers introduce new characters at all? They know us! And they know we like new experiences, situations when we can learn new skills, new visual effects to see.

Introducing a new character in a game is like the appearance of a new character in a book or movie – we need to know him first, we don’t know what to expect. What will he bring to the game? What are his relationships with other characters? We are very interested. And that’s the point!

This is an incentive to keep playing the game and not be bored with it. And the expansion of the plot also affects our imagination.

Agent 21 – who is he... or she? Powers, abilities and origin

We know that the new Valorant agent has the codename Mage. Valorant is becoming more and more popular in South Asia. Due to it, and the fact that gamers have found an email from Riot Games in the game where the name Varun Batra was mentioned, maybe the new character has Indian origin.

One source tells that Agent 21 is linked to the new character from a competitive first – person shooter. Other source – that he will be associated with League of Legends.

What about his abilities? We still don’t know if it will be male or female character. But some hints suggest that he could use magic or primal forces. “Varun” sounds similar to “Varuna”. Varuna is Hindu deity, associated with oceans. Does this mean that the new character will have powers of water?

Due to the distribution of the characters’ power and abilities, players are speculating that Mage may be a controller agent.

When will we see Agent 21 in Valorant?

Some clues point us that we will get more information in Episode 5 Act I. This episode will be released on August 23. Does it mean a new Valorant agent will appear in Episode 5 Act II?
