As always, the League of Legends World Championship will start with a play-in tournament, immediately followed by a Lol Worlds group phase. The worst teams from the main regions and those from smaller regions like Brazil will get into the Lol Worlds Play-in tournament. 2022 Lol Worlds Play-in
The first stage of Lol Worlds 2022 is the Play-in tournament. Twelve teams will face each other in the Lol Worlds play-in. Those that finished bottom in the main regions and the champions from the smaller regions of the League of Legends post-professional competition. The groups at Lol Worlds were drawn after the American LCS finals. At Worlds 2022 are two groups of 6 teams in each group. The top 4 teams from the League of Legends World Championship Play-in tournament will get into the next stage, with one team per group in the next stage of Lol Worlds.
This year, the rules had to be gently bent. This was caused by the armed conflict in Ukraine, and because of it, the Russian league (LCL) in March this year was suspended indefinitely. Because of this, the place in Lol Worlds, which would normally have been assigned to the best team from Russia, had to be given to someone else. It stood in Europe, which is why we will see two European teams in the Lol World's Play-in tournament: Fnatic and Mad Lions. For the first time in the history of League of Legends World Championships, two teams from the same region will be allowed in one group on Lol Worlds. The previous rule was that the group draw could not result in two teams from the same region in one group on Lol Worlds. The League of Legends Play-in tournament will begin on September 29 in Mexico City.

Group A - Fnatic, Beyond Gaming, DetonatioN FocusMe, Evil Geniuses, LOUD, Chiefs Esports Club
Group B - DRX, Royal Never Give Up, Saigon Buffalo, MAD Lions, Istanbul Wildcats, Isurus
The draw of this year's groups on Lol Worlds has left viewers with no possible excitement. Although Fnatic and Evil Geniuses are the clear favorites at Play-in Tournament in Group A, the other teams may B at Lol Worlds that are definitely more filled with equal competition. Here you will find teams that in surprise their rivals. The play of DFM and Beyond Gaming should be watched closely. However, it is Group previous years always started Lol Worlds from the second stage of the tournament.
