The story of the best CS:GO player - S1mple

Olesandr "S1mple" Kostylov was born in Ukraine on October 2, 1997. He made his debut as a professional player in the Hellraisers team. He joined the team in September 2014 and then helped defeat the rising Fnatic. Thanks to S1mple, his team took second place in the group!

Unfortunately, the young AWPer's further cooperation with Hellraisers did not go as well. When the young player was in the middle of a two-year ban from ESL tournaments in February 2015, he was kicked off the team. Then, despite being banned from tournaments, another team invested in S1mple. However, after only six months, Flipsid3 Tactics also dropped the Ukrainian player. The reason for the player's expulsion from the team was said to be his toxicity.

S1mple becomes an international CS:GO star

In 2016, S1mple gets into the Team Liquid squad and plays in North America for four months. His relationship with his teammates was again not the best. During the four months, the young Ukrainian player scored both successes and failures. Despite the difficult situation at Team Liquid, S1mple scored a successful performance against SK Gaming, thanks to which his team won the final.

This is where Na'Vi comes into S1mple's life. In August 2016, Natus Vincere signs S1mple to a contract. The organization's owners put high hopes in the young player, as a lineup full of veterans was completely overhauled.

Initially, the new Na'Vi squad did not perform at its best, but consistently S1mple showed phenomenal performance. After the changes of individual players, the team began to achieve success, by mid-2018 they had won three events in a row. It was S1mple's great play that allowed Na'Vi to win three tournaments, further the same was true during two Majors in 2018. This allowed him to take the top spot in the HLTV rankings.

In 2019, Na'Vi had mixed results. However, once again the best performing player was S1mple. This is the reason why he maintained his individual position - in the player ranking he took second place, only behind Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut.

In 2020, s1mple did not stop surprising with his great game. He took the helm of leadership in Na'Vi and lifted the IEM Katowice 2020. At the end of the year, the player posted stunning statistics, which he achieved in the finals against the best teams in the world.

The following years saw more success for Na'Vi. A new young player was added to the team, who perfectly harmonized with S1mple. The squad's dominance is shown by their subsequent successes; victory at IEM Cologne 2021, third prize of the Intel Grand Slam, first place in the 14th season of the ESL Pro League.

Later that year, S1mple led his team to win the Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI CIS tournament. Na'Vi won the top prize - $1 million! This allowed S1mple to become one of the more successful CSGO stars, with a major title, two Cologne championships, one Katowice championship and an Intel Grand Slam award.
