We all know that online games are best when they’re played with multiple players. And a fast-paced shooter like Fortnite is best played with a group of friends.
While this game is already incredibly popular, its developer Epic Games is looking for ways to encourage players to get more of their buddies involved in the game. As a result, this game developer has introduced a new initiative called Refer a Friend 2022, which gives players the opportunity to earn rewards by encouraging their friends to check out the game and play Fortnite with them.

How does the Refer a Friend 2022 program work?
Using the Refer a Friend 2022 program, players have the opportunity to earn a total of five cosmetic rewards. You'll unlock the first two cosmetic items by completing simple tasks, but it's possible that it may take a while to get the Xander skin.
To do so, you must be an Epic Games user. If you have an account, open a browser. Go to the official Refer a Friend 2022 Fortnite program website. Log in with your Epic account, and follow the steps displayed on the webpage. By clicking on the "Add a Friend" button, you will see a window where you can invite friends.
This lets you invite a friend to Fortnite. However, you may only invite new Fortnite players, who haven't played more than two hours of a core Fortnite Battle royale or zero build game sessions in the last 30 days. The Refer a Friend program can only invite new players who haven't tried Fortnite for long enough. You can send them invitations and they must accept.
Inviting your friends to join and asking them to accept the invitation is a great way to include them in a shared game. If these people have not played Fortnite yet, they obviously need to install the game. When they log in you'll be able to invite them to the lobby and then you'll immediately start completing challenges to earn rewards.
What challenges do you need to complete to get a skin in Fortnite?
Below is a list of all the challenges that you and your friends can participate in, along with the rewards that are associated with each challenge. These challenges require you to play together as a duo, trio or in one team – except the last one.
- Invite a friend to play Fortnite and get a Double Draw spray.
- Participate in one round of the game with your chosen buddy, and gain an Immortal Oasis wrap.
- You and your chosen buddy must jointly finish in the top ten six times to get the Oasis Wind backpack back bling.
- If you beat 45 enemies together, you will receive the Oasis Wind pickaxe.
- If both you and your friend reach level 60 together, you will receive the Xander skin. This quest doesn't track if you're playing with a friend - though it's obviously great fun!
The program ends on January 10 2023, but you will be able to earn the rewards until February 18. Be sure to check out the rewards on time, or else they’ll be lost forever.
